PROFESSIONAL LEADERS

ERA's in-house staff includes engineering and architecture professionals with experience in their respective disciplines and project management. The firm's activities are coordinated at our main office by key employees who lead tasks across the various disciplines to complete each project. All ERA personnel are residents of Puerto Rico and will be available to provide services as required.

Enrique Ruiz

President

Engineer Enrique Ruiz, PE, RLS, is the president of the firm. Engineer Ruiz has been working for over 55 years in the construction industry, with successful experience in the planning, design, and overall management of multiple design and construction projects. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and a Registered Land Surveyor (RLS) with extensive knowledge of local codes, laws, permits, construction materials, and practices. He has furthered his education through courses in construction management, value engineering, and a variety of other technical aspects of the engineering profession. Engineer Ruiz is a leader among industry professionals and has served as president of the Puerto Rico College of Engineers and Land Surveyors.

Carlos M. Adorno

Vice President

Carlos M. Adorno Bonilla, PhD, PE, is the General A/E Manager and is responsible for the overall execution of the design team. Engineer Adorno is a licensed Professional Engineer with a PhD in Structural Engineering and extensive knowledge of codes, laws, permits, construction materials, and both federal and local practices. He has over 15 years of experience working on a wide range of projects, including bridges, roads, housing, sports facilities, airport facilities, and others. Engineer Adorno has also participated in many joint ventures with U.S. consulting firms, overseeing and ensuring the quality of both the process and the final product. He will coordinate the design of all engineering and architectural phases of the assigned project, as well as all special studies with consultants.

Luis Raúl Marrero

Contracts Manager

Luis Raúl Marrero, PE, MBA, is a licensed mechanical engineer with extensive knowledge and experience in project management. His background strengthens the team’s capacity and expertise in managing emergency projects in response to natural disasters. His experience includes damage assessment and the development of cost estimates for repairs to residential and commercial facilities following Hurricane Maria. Engineer Marrero has received training in debris management, risk management, CERT, emergency management, hurricane awareness, hazardous materials, and risk mitigation. He will be in charge of cost estimating and coordinating the mechanical engineering aspects of the project.

Jean C. De Jesús Colón

Architect in training

Jean C. De Jesús Colón, AIT, has 18 years of experience in the production of plans, shop drawings, and blueprints for residential, commercial, and recreational facilities. De Jesús has expertise in Architectural Drafting, Space Planning, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Building Information Modeling (BIM), and renderings for all types of projects. His recent experience includes converting 2D drawings into 3D models (BIM), coordination among design disciplines, clash detection between design elements, 3D scanning, project management, and quantity and cost estimating. At ERA, De Jesús is involved in the planning and design process, proposal preparation, design development, and the creation of detailed drawings that integrate engineering considerations for a variety of projects.
